Test 115

Th1, Th2, Th17 and Treg lymphocyte subsets

Restricted times

What it is

Study of the CD3+CD4+ Th1, Th2 and Th17 lymphocyte subsets, identified by intracellular staining for IFNg, IL4 and IL17 respectively, and measurement of regulatory T cells (Treg) by surface staining (CD4+CD127low), to assess the polarisation of the adaptive immune response in blood. Reported as relative results (percentage of each population of total lymphocytes) and as absolute values (cell count per unit volume). Intracellular staining after culture is the only methodology tested in the clinical trials that have linked an increased Th1/Th2 ratio to repeated implantation failure, showing the benefit of immunomodulatory treatments: Tacrolimus treatment in women with repeated implantation failures - PubMed (nih.gov) Tacrolimus Improves the Implantation Rate in Patients with Elevated Th1/2 Helper Cell Ratio and Repeated Implantation Failure (RIF) - PubMed (nih.gov) Immunosuppressive treatment using tacrolimus promotes pregnancy outcome in infertile women with repeated implantation failures - PubMed (nih.gov)
